How to combat "Flu Season" for good... NATURALLY!

Quick! Hide! its... COLD SEASON! & I'm not talking about the weather.

Sniffles, sick days from work and long headaches that make cozy-ing up with a Netflix marathon even more appealing!

BUT what would you say if I said, there was no such thing as "flu or cold season?!"

I KNOW. crazy huh!?

I would argue that the flu is not a season at all! It is an inability to adapt due to decreased sunshine, water intake with increased sugar intake and stress! We could combat with a couple good habits to boost the immune system you could start TODAY.

No antibiotics. No detoxing. No down time. NO SICKNESS! Create your own health and resistance.

6 SIMPLE things to combat the so-called "Cold Season"

1. Get more Sunshine

Its nice to bundle up inside and look out the window with our cup of coffee and keep ourselves cozy indoors but sunshine is so important! Work keeps us inside long enough, get that shine on. Vitamin D is our friend!

"When natural sunlight hits the skin it triggers the body's production of vitamin D. Vitamin D is also known as “the sunshine vitamin.” It is a crucial ingredient for overall health; protects against inflammation, lowers high blood pressure, helps muscles, improves brain function..." & even helps absorb calcium!

2. Drink More Water

I bet you don't keep track of your water intake as thoroughly as summer time huh!? Colder weather calls for warmer drinks and higher doses of caffeine (which dehydrates us!) We need that water for our essential health! It keeps our bodies digesting properly, prevents headaches and keeps our kidneys out of trouble! It also rids toxins, soothes our bodies by balancing our fluids and is great for our overall health!

3. Limit the dang Sugar.

I said it. I am not going to sugar coat it, sugar causes cancer. But it also slams down the immune system! Which makes it awfully hard for our bodies to fight off infection. Hello main reason for sicknessssssss. Dont pass the pumkin pie Aunt Carol.

4. Exercise More

We all know that its good for us. We just dont have the same motivation as before! Colder mornings and less energy due to sugar overload, dehydration and "lack of motivation" for that summer bod...we all just gotta get out there and move it!

5. Eat Better

You want that summer bod?! Start NOW! If that isnt motivtion enough- your body is fighting pretty dang hard to stay healthy right need to feed it the right nutrients to keep that thing moving! It is the ONLY body you have- treat it right! Cut the crap. Veggie it up and get those much needed Vitamins!

6. Stress Less

Sounds easy right?! (insert laughing emoji) Stress is almost like a bomb for the immune system.

Scientifically..."There are two types of lymphocytes: B cells- produce antibodies which are released into the fluid surrounding the body's cells to destroy the invading viruses and bacteria. ... The stress hormone corticosteroid can suppress the effectiveness of the immune system (e.g. lowers the number of lymphocytes). "

Whatever you can do to help your body relax this season and de-stress.

  • Start by getting organized- write it all down.
  • Don't forget to make time for yourself- you need rejuvenation.
  • Create a budget- you'll be thankful later.
  • Be Realistic- you know what is and is not a healthy expectation!
  • Don't pretend your super woman- we are only human ladies!
  • You deserve to enjoy this beautiful season, babe! Relax and soak it all up!
