12 Cute Apartment Hacks and Finds
Lets talk commitment.
I read books halfway and then forget they exist.
I start a project and then in the blink of an eye am tieing my shoe for a run all while my glue gun is penetrating into my kitchen table.
I make dinner while snacking on dessert.
I just cant hold my s#it together to commit to anything...#realtalk
Basically...the thought of choosing a bright color to accent my apartment.... gives me anxiety.
SO, this lil apartment is not only full of neutrals, but hacks to help you set up your small space SMART!
Shop my home favorites at the bottom! (:
1. Find Value in Versatility
Slurge on something you could see keeping forever! This chair is trendy in our living room but one day can end up in a backyard or even a kids room! I love this thing and begged Aaron for it!
2. Spice up your Spice Rack
Spices take up a good amount of room in the cupboards. Especially if you are like me and believe that its good to be prepared with EVERY seasoning in case you want to channel your inner Bobby Flay. So creating a way to have them take up less space, look aesthetically pleasing and also be extremely accessible....spices up LIFE!
3. Freshen up with Faux
I love things that photosynthesize .Yes, I suck at keeping them alive. Yes, I buy them anyways. But one thing that I have learned, is that green is good even if its faux. Buying an air succulent for a wall hanging allows the pop of green to live like there IS a tomorrow. And also makes me feel alot less guilty when I forget to water them for weeks.
4. Beauty up your Blankets
Having blankets accessible for couch cuddling is as necessary as having your Kuerig brewing in the morning. So why not make them easy to grab and easy on the eyes?! Baskets and Ladders make grabbing a blanket easy and ultimately your Netflix binges more enjoyable!
5. Hooked on Hanging
So you have a purse you carry around everyday, a dog that you walk every month (kidding, she is spoiled everyday) and glasses that you want to keep on display because you paid an arm and a leg so you could look like an Olsen twin...but also want to eat dinner at your kitchen table and not have to clear it all off before a meal. Hang it! This cute lil number makes a stylish wall piece AND makes life a lil easier.
6. Stylize your Shelves
Build your own triangle shelving! We went to Lowe's and bought one piece of wood and created these lil babes that are perfect for holding books, vitamins, chapstick and succulents! Or if you're like Aaron and hate clutter, its just pretty!
7. Make your own Macrame
Youtube your fav macrame design and create a statement wall piece to hang over your bed!
8. Take a trip to Trader Joes
My favorite way to spruce up a kitchen space is to decorate with live Eucalyptus and watch it slowly die. Don't worry it lives a beautiful life with at least a 3 month span.
9. Fake some Feet
Having a large mirror in your room helps make the room feel like open and big! It radiates the light from the windows creating a more bright environment and also is really good for judging you trying to fit in your skinny jeans.
10. Hang the Hand Towels
I don't know about you, but I do not have extra space to store hand towels when each of my kitchen drawers are comprised of shoes that cant fit in my closet. Im kidding but space is a serious prob. So finding a super cute way to store and have towels accessible, kinda made Aaron's job of doing to dishes a little easier. (;
11. Create your own Clock
Maybe you really want that Magnolia clock that you meet weekly in the home section of Target but its price tag is playing hard to get. You are capable. You are strong. You are creative. You are smart. Get your husband to make you one. Ha!
12. Charm up your Coffee Table
I dont know about you, but I believe that no coffee table should be undressed. Seagrass is my ultimate fav right now. It helps to add some fun texture and pulls in the ocean breeze we are trying to channel from miles away.
I hope that you feel inspired to find ways to create your own apartment hacks! Comment below and let me know your favorite hack! & also- let me know which color that I should try committing to!!
